About The Position

Florida SouthWestern State College is seeking an Instructional Designer I to join their Learning Technologies Department within the Office of Information Technology. This role is responsible for designing and maintaining instructional content for online or blended courses, as well as training materials for faculty, staff, and students. The position requires proficiency in the Canvas learning management system (LMS) or similar platforms and supports the Learning Technologies Team with various tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
• One (1) year of full-time related work experience in higher education or instructional design.
• Ability to work flexible hours to provide effective coverage.
• Strong background in curriculum and course development, distance learning technologies, and learning management systems.
• Knowledge of ADA compliance and other legal guidelines related to online learning, such as the TEACH Act.
• Experience with a variety of operating systems, applications, and multimedia applications.

Responsibilities

• Designing and maintaining instructional content for online or blended courses.
• Developing training materials for faculty, staff, and students.
• Utilizing the Canvas learning management system (LMS) or similar platforms.
• Performing tasks for the Learning Technologies Team as needed.
