This position supports instructors and instructional teams in designing effective, innovative, and evidence-informed approaches to teaching, learning, and assessment. The position provides particular expertise in the thoughtful use of AI to enhance teaching and learning and support evolving approaches to assessment. The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) advances the University of Alberta’s teaching and learning mission by inspiring instructors, connecting communities, and partnering for impact. As the university’s centre for expertise in teaching and learning, CTL supports instructors, academic leaders, and programs through research-informed, inclusive, and student-centred approaches that strengthen teaching practice and student learning. Guided by institutional priorities, including Shape: A Strategic Plan of Impact, Braiding Past, Present and Future, and Changing the Story, CTL advances teaching and learning through reflection, peer learning, innovation, and partnership. The Centre is committed to inclusive, anti-colonial, and relational approaches that critically examine colonial structures in higher education and support the integration of Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing into teaching, learning, curriculum, and assessment. Working collaboratively across faculties and institutional units, CTL builds capacity for meaningful and sustainable improvements in teaching and learning across diverse disciplinary and academic contexts.
