Instructional Design Intern - Summer 2027
About The Position
The Instructional Design Intern plays a key role in supporting the PC Performance training team. Partnering with experienced professionals in the field of Instructional Design, the individual will create effective training materials for our business partners in Claims and Underwriting. As an intern, you will also participate in corporate activities designed to provide exposure to our industry, organization, and culture. Our internship program follows an 80/10/10 approach: 80% of your time will be spent performing meaningful work and project-based assignments within your department. 10% of your time will be dedicated to learning from and networking with employees in other areas of the organization. 10% of your time will be spent participating in shared internship experiences that provide insight into our culture, leadership, and business operations.
Requirements
- Be a current college student (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status).
- Be dependable, organized, and proactive.
- Maintain effective communication skills, excellent customer service skills, and be team focused.
- Learn quickly and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Be able to work full-time in-person from our office in West Des Moines, Iowa.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis.
- We are not able to sponsor now or in the future, or take over sponsorship of, an employment visa or work authorization for this role.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with instructional design tools and software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint), and Articulate 360 preferred but not needed.
Responsibilities
- Design training presentations, materials, and resources.
- Assist with preparation for in-person and online training events.
- Use instructional design applications to build and manage content.
- Share creative and innovative ideas, contribute to team meeting discussions, and build lasting networking connections.
