About The Position

OUC – The Reliable One, an industry leader and the second-largest municipal utility in Florida, is offering an internship program in the Employee Experience division. The OUC Internship Program is dedicated to providing students with real-world, hands-on experience by partnering with energy leaders and experienced professionals, while bringing new and out-of-the-box perspectives and ideas. We are looking for an Instructional Design Intern, partnering with the Workforce Engagement team.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university.
  • Academic status of Junior or above; Master’s students welcome.
  • Program of study: Instructional Design & Technology, Educational Technology, HR–Learning & Development, or related field.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and methodologies such as ADDIE or SAM.
  • Familiarity with e-learning tools (Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Captivate).
  • Basic understanding of LMS platforms and evaluation models.
  • Awareness of accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508).
  • Familiarity with HTML, web design, or digital content development.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project coordination skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong research, reporting, and data analysis skills.
  • Creative thinker with marketing or engagement strategy experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Self‑motivated, organized, and capable of independent work.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the design, development, and curation of engaging content for online learning platforms.
  • Supporting the instructional design and e-learning development lifecycle from needs assessment to implementation.
  • Applying instructional design principles and evaluation models to assess learning effectiveness.
  • Participating in review and quality assurance of instructional materials to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
  • Supporting implementation and enhancement of features within the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Assisting with the design and branding of emails, webpages, and LMS landing pages using HTML and web design principles.
  • Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to coordinate projects and incorporate feedback.
