Jefferson RISE is a tuition-free public charter school serving nearly 800 students in grades 6-12 in Harvey, Louisiana. Founded in 2014, the school is committed to ensuring every student graduates prepared for their chosen path, whether that's university, a skilled trade, the military, or entrepreneurship. This is achieved through rigorous academics, strong relationships, consistent accountability, and a genuine commitment to individual student success. The school's student body is diverse, with 61% Black/African American, 16% Hispanic, 14% Middle Eastern, 6% White (Non-Middle Eastern), and 2% Asian. The school operates on its own academic calendar and daily schedule, with workdays generally from 7:00 AM to 3:45 PM, Monday through Friday, with extended hours on Mondays for mandatory Professional Development. The Instructional Coach position is a full-time, exempt role within the Instructional Leadership department, reporting to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and/or Executive Director. The role involves improving student achievement by developing highly effective teachers, supervising approximately 6-8 teachers, and teaching students for about 50% of the school day. The coach will utilize student work, assessment data, classroom observations, and teacher practice to drive continuous improvement through coaching meetings, PLC facilitation, professional development, and instructional planning. Successful candidates are exceptional educators who build strong relationships, provide candid feedback, hold themselves and others accountable, and use evidence for decision-making.
