Jefferson RISE is seeking an Instructional Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. This tuition-free public charter school serves nearly 800 students in grades 6-12 in Harvey, Louisiana, with a mission to ensure every student graduates prepared for their chosen path. The school emphasizes rigorous academics, strong relationships, consistent accountability, and a commitment to individual student success. The student body is diverse, with 87% qualifying as economically disadvantaged and 13% identified as Students with Disabilities. Jefferson RISE has a strong track record of student achievement, including a Top Gains Award and a high graduation rate. The school operates on a self-determined academic calendar and daily schedule, with workdays generally from 7:00 AM to 3:45 PM, Monday through Friday, and extended hours on Mondays for mandatory Professional Development. The Instructional Coach is a key leadership role responsible for improving student achievement by developing highly effective teachers. Reporting to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and/or Executive Director, the coach will supervise and develop approximately 6-8 teachers while also teaching students for about 50% of the school day. The role involves using student work, assessment data, classroom observations, and teacher practice to drive continuous improvement through weekly coaching meetings, PLC facilitation, professional development, and instructional planning. Successful candidates will be exceptional educators with strong relationship-building skills, the ability to provide candid feedback, a commitment to accountability, and evidence-based decision-making.
