About The Position

The Department of Geology & Geological Engineering in the School of Engineering at the University of Mississippi invites applicants for a full-time, 9-month Instructional Associate Professor position (non-tenure track) to begin ASAP. This role primarily performs a limited range of duties, usually assigned teaching or service roles, and is not eligible for tenure. The candidate is expected to contribute to departmental service.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a closely related field by the appointment start date

Responsibilities

  • Teaching geology courses for non-majors
  • Teaching courses supporting undergraduate and graduate degrees in geology and geological engineering
  • Assisting with instructional laboratories
  • Advising graduate students
  • Participating in instruction of summer field camps (field camps are outside of the nine-month contract and qualify for additional compensation)
  • Contributing to departmental service
