About The Position

The Geological Sciences and Criminal Justice Department at Salem State University invite applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position with a joint appointment between the two departments. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to teach in forensic geoscience and forensic science, including areas such as forensic geology, forensic sedimentology, criminalistics, climate and crime, forensic geochemistry, forensic instrumentation, and advanced investigations. Requirements

PhD in Forensic Geoscience or closely related field, or ABD with doctorate conferred by August 2027
At least two years of experience teaching full time at a Massachusetts State University or comparable institution
Experience and demonstrated ability to teach in areas of forensic geoscience and forensic science
Evidence of successful teaching experience at the college/university level

Experience teaching face-to-face and online courses
Experience in distance learning and instructional technologies
Experience mentoring undergraduate research projects
Experience serving as role a model and mentor for a diverse student body
Evidence of scholarly research in Forensics, Forensic Geoscience, Environmental Justice or closely related field
Experience teaching field geology courses in Montana
Candidates whose body of scholarly work addresses issues regarding the welfare and representation of historically under-served communities in our region
Documented activities in appropriately aligned teaching, scholarship/research, and service, including community-based endeavors
