About The Position

A member of the Department of Special Education, this position reports directly to the building Principal, Evaluation Team Supervisor and to the Director of Special Education while working under the direction of the special educator teacher. This is a Paraprofessional Staff position with benefits according to the LEA Unit C collective bargaining agreement. The work year is 184 days, with an immediate start date. The position is 32.5 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Highly Qualified as Paraprofessional according to DESE standards.
  • Must be willing and able to physically manage students if needed.
  • Experience and commitment to working in a racially and culturally diverse teaching and learning community.

Nice To Haves

  • BS or BA/ Preferred
  • Classroom experience and college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports instructional programming
  • Implements assistive technology
  • Facilitates interactions between students
  • Assists with implementing behavior intervention
  • Assists with mobility and transitioning and personal care as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
