Instructional Assistants will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of a basic skills program or educational programming and performing duties as directed by the educational specialist or classroom teacher. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (Ability to maintain provided by CCIU upon hire)

Nice To Haves

• Associates degree or higher OR completion of two years of post-secondary education OR 48 credit hours from an accredited college or university preferred
• Experience with special needs population preferred
• Experience working with students with severe/complex behavioral/emotional issues preferred

Responsibilities

• Individual tutoring or one-on-one support for a student with special needs
• Assistance progress monitoring of students, including behavior charts & data
• Assisting classroom teacher with any assigned duties, including classroom and material prep
• Attending specials with assigned class of students or individual student
• Transporting students to and from lavatories, nurse, admin offices, etc.
• Assisting with arrival and dismissal as it relates to transportation
• Assistance with daily hygiene of students, including diapering and toileting
• Provide a safe, welcoming environment for all students
• Any other duties as assigned by the Principal
