About The Position

The Instructional Assistant will support a teacher and work with small children at Evergreen Elementary School. Duties include assisting the teacher as needed, providing supervision, and conducting small reading groups under teacher direction. The role requires initiative, self-direction, and the ability to discipline students with dignity. The employee must qualify, or be able to meet the standard, for a highly qualified paraprofessional.

Requirements

• Ability to work with small children.
• Proficiency in elementary school-level math, spelling, reading, and English usage.
• Good computer skills.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently.
• Must qualify or be able to meet the standard for a highly qualified paraprofessional.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of college coursework or an associate degree; this may be waived upon successful performance on a district-administered skills test.

• Must be fingerprinted.
