About The Position

Troy Elementary School is hiring an Instructional Aide/Cashier. The role supports teachers in planning and implementing instruction, adjusting instructional programs as needed, and creating a classroom environment conducive to learning. The aide works with individual students or small groups on instructional exercises assigned by the teacher and supports students in general education classrooms. The position also includes working as a cashier in the cafeteria. The schedule is 184 days per year.

Requirements

• Hold appropriate certification.
• Meet NCLB Highly Qualified criteria for paraprofessionals.

Responsibilities

• Work with the teacher to plan and implement a program of instruction.
• Work with the teacher to make appropriate adjustments to the instructional program as required.
• Work with the teacher to create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher with individual students or small groups.
• Assist in supporting individual students or small groups in general education classrooms.
• Keep the teacher informed of individual students’ special needs or problems.
• Work as a cashier in the cafeteria.
