About The Position

The Department of Finance, Insurance and Law (FIL) in the College of Business (COB) at Illinois State University invites applications for a non-tenure track position in the area of finance, beginning in the fall of 2026. The primary teaching needs are for instructors in personal finance, investments, and financial markets. Courses may be taught in person, online, or hybrid, depending on departmental needs. The College of Business is AACSB accredited in both business and accounting, ranked a top-75 undergraduate business school by Bloomberg Businessweek, and its MBA program is ranked in the top-100 part-time MBA programs by US News and World Report. The Department of Finance, Insurance and Law comprises 19 tenured and tenure-track faculty members and serves 800 undergraduate students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 5 years of work experience in a related area
  • Ability to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as mandated by state law

  • Master’s degree in related field
  • Formal or informal teaching and/or course preparation experience
