About The Position

The Department of Educational Administration & Foundations at Illinois State University is creating a pool of qualified individuals for potential non-tenure-track teaching positions during the upcoming academic year and summer sessions. These positions are part-time and applications are accepted continuously, with reviews conducted as vacancies arise. The role involves teaching graduate P12 students across various modalities including on-campus, off-campus, and online. Key aspects of the position include collaborating with professional colleagues to foster a positive learning environment, teaching within a cohort model to enhance student success and relational leadership, inspiring leadership among students, assessing academic progress, and submitting grades within university timelines. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to model emotional intelligence for aspiring school leaders.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in related field.
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of Strategic Planning, Implementation, and Monitoring.
  • Exhibit an understanding of continual School Improvement.

  • Exhibit a general understanding of School Law, Board Policy, and Administrative Procedures.
  • Experience in the design and delivery of Professional Development.
  • Experience with collective bargaining and contract development.
  • Exhibit an understanding of Human Resource Processes and Procedures.
  • Demonstrate the ability to build consensus and leadership capacity within others.
  • Trained in the Charlotte Danielson appraisal system.
  • Strong disciplinary background in educational studies.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of ethics and professional depositions.
  • Experience using a variety of technologies to design and deliver instruction and/or willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge and application of adult learning theory.
  • Willingness to collaborate in among higher education faculty and regional partners.

Responsibilities

  • Teach graduate P12 students on campus, off campus and online.
  • Collaborate with other professional colleagues to create a positive learning environment.
  • Teach in a cohort model designed to maximize student success and relational leadership among the students.
  • Inspire leadership among the students assigned to teach and others whom you encounter.
  • Assess student academic progress, and submit all grades within the required University timelines.
  • Model emotional intelligence for aspiring school leaders.
