About The Position

The Department of Mathematics at Illinois State University is seeking to hire one to two full-time, non-tenure track faculty members to bolster its Actuarial Science program. The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for teaching 24 CHE (Credit Hour Equivalent) of courses in actuarial science and statistics, including subjects such as Financial Mathematics, Actuarial Models I-V, and other statistics courses. Some of these courses may be eligible for University Earned Credit. Requirements

  • Conferred master’s degree in actuarial science or closely related field by start date of appointment
  • For teaching positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position
  • Applicants for this position must be authorized to work in the U.S. without ISU sponsorship.
  • All work under this appointment is required to be performed from within the State of Illinois. Illinois State University does not authorize out-of-state work.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level
  • Ph.D. in Actuarial Science or a closely related field
  • Associated or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society
