About The Position

Under general supervision, this entry-level technical instructional assistant position supports students with moderate to severe disabilities by providing instructional support, personal care, behavior management, and social skills development. The assistant works with students individually and in small groups, following teachers’ instructions and individualized educational plans (IEPs). Responsibilities include ensuring student safety, assisting with body-care needs, and handling medical or behavioral issues that may arise. The position may involve one-on-one assignments with students who require intensive support.

The position is listed at La Tierra Early Child Center for 3.7 hours a day, with various times. The selected candidate may be assigned to any district facility during any hours of operation; listed times are subject to change. Candidates may be interviewed by various schools but will be hired to work at one school.

Requirements

• Provide proof of passing the CBEST, completing two years of college (48 units), holding an AA degree or higher, or passing the District proficiency exam in mathematics, reading, and writing by the job posting closing date.
• Hold CPR/First Aid certification from an in-person or blended class and upload the certificate with the application.
