About The Position

Instructional Assistant IIIs support our severe/emotionally disturbed students. We are looking for candidates with any combination of experience and training which provides the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties. This role involves working with students who have a Learning Handicap or Communicatively Handicap programs. Students designated as an emotionally disturbed (ED) class or an autism class or assigned to a Behaviorist to assist individual students.

Requirements

• Attach High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Pass San Juan Unified School District's Proficiency Exam (April 2005 to current) OR Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
• For Title I Sites: Attach documentation of passing SJUSD's Proficiency Exam, CBEST, official transcripts demonstrating completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units), or proof of an A.A. degree (or higher).
• If foreign degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, coursework must be evaluated for equivalency to a degree/transcripts from an accredited U.S. college or university.
• Applications submitted without the required test results will not be considered.
• Applications must be complete, not state 'see resume' in place of requested information, and be signed.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with groups of children.
• Experience working with impaired children or adults.
• Coursework in child development.
• Possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license.

Responsibilities
