Instructional Assistant IIIs support severe/emotionally disturbed students. This role involves working with students who have learning handicaps or are communicatively handicapped. The assistant will support students designated as emotionally disturbed (ED), in an autism class, or assigned to a Behaviorist to assist individual students. Experience working with groups of children and experience working with impaired children or adults is highly desirable. Coursework in child development is also highly desirable. In some programs, possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license may be required.
