About The Position

This is a part-time (6.5 hours/day, 0.8125 FTE) permanent position for an Instructional Assistant II working 1:1 with students with mild/moderate support needs. The role involves working with students in Resource, Learning Handicap, or Communicatively Handicap programs. Typical duties include running small groups, assisting students in larger groups in Special Day Class or General Education settings, and supporting the teacher's needs. The position is located at Mariemont School and is part of the CSEA General Unit Salary Schedule.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Passing score from San Juan Unified School District's Proficiency Exam (April 2005 to current) OR Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
Passing the IA Proficiency Test or having the CBEST is required, regardless of educational background.
Experience and training which provides the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties.
In some programs, possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license.
If degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, coursework must be evaluated for equivalency to a degree/transcripts from an accredited U.S. college or university.
