About The Position

This is a part-time (0.75 FTE) permanent position for an Instructional Assistant II providing 1:1 support for students with mild/moderate support needs. The role involves working with students in Resource, Learning Handicap, or Communicatively Handicap programs. Typical duties include running small groups, assisting students in large groups in both Special Day Class and General Education settings, and supporting the teacher's needs. The position is for 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, for a total of 18A calendar days per year (9 months/year, 206 days/year).

Requirements

Must pre-qualify by attaching High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must attach one document [A or B]: [A] Passing score from San Juan Unified School District's Proficiency Exam (April 2005 to current). No other school districts' proficiency exam will be accepted.
OR [B] Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
Passing the IA Proficiency Test or having the CBEST is required, regardless of educational background.

If your degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, you must have coursework evaluated for its equivalency to a degree/transcripts received from an accredited United States college or university.
In some programs, possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license.
