About The Position

Instructional Assistant II's work with students served in Resource, Learning Handicap or Communicatively Handicap programs. Example of typical duties include running small groups, assisting students in large groups in both Special Day Class settings or General Education and supporting the teacher's needs. We are looking for candidates with any combination of experience and training which provides the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Passing score from San Juan Unified School District's Proficiency Exam (April 2005 to current) OR Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
  • Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) is required, regardless of educational background.
  • For Title I Sites: Official transcripts demonstrating the completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units) OR Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher). If degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, coursework must be evaluated for equivalency to a degree/transcripts from an accredited U.S. college or university.
  • Valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license (in some programs)
