About The Position

Instructional Assistant II's work with students served in Resource, Learning Handicap, or Communicatively Handicap programs. This role involves running small groups, assisting students in large groups in both Special Day Class settings or General Education, and supporting the teacher's needs. The district is looking for candidates with any combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties.

Requirements

  • List on application experience that is relevant to this position.
  • Non-Title Sites: Must pre-qualify by attaching your High School Diploma or equivalent and one document [A or B] from the following list: [A] Passing score from San Juan Unified School District's Proficiency Exam - testing date must be April 2005 to current. No other school districts proficiency exam will be accepted. OR [B] Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
  • Passing the IA Proficiency Test or having the CBEST is required, regardless of educational background.
  • Applications submitted without the required test results will not be considered.
  • An incomplete application, "see resume" in place of listing requested information on application, or an unsigned application will not be considered.
  • In some programs, possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license.
