About The Position

The job of an Instructional Assistant-Bilingual is done for the purpose of providing support to the instructional program within assigned classroom with specific responsibility for working with students individually or in small groups in assisting in the assessment of students' English language acquisition from their native language, performing classroom clerical tasks, and serving as a resource to other school personnel requiring assistance with non-English speaking persons. This job reports to the designated administrator.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school OR General Education Development (GED) equivalent.
  • Must take and obtain a passing score on the Lynwood Unified School District Instructional Assistant Proficiency Assessment (Written Examination).
  • One (1) year of job-related experience.
  • Fluently speak, read, write, and translate information in English and Spanish with accuracy.
  • Provide sufficient information demonstrating possession of initial qualifications, including transcripts, certifications, and documents.
  • Complete and submit an online employment application.
  • Complete the Education and/or Work Experience sections of the application.
  • Attach proof of high school graduation or equivalent (GED), OR of higher education (Associate degree or above) to the application.
  • If education was received outside the United States, foreign diploma/degree/transcripts must be evaluated by a transcript evaluation service that certifies that the degree meets the United States equivalency.
