What you can expect as an Institutional Giving Officer As we approach our bicentennial in 2029, we are on our way to doubling our fundraising goals and expanding our global impact. We are looking for a high-energy, strategic, and narrative-driven professional to help fuel this growth. This is a high-impact role designed for a storyteller and a relationship-builder. You will be responsible for securing philanthropic support from a diverse portfolio of corporations, foundations, and government entities. You know how to build values-driven partnerships. You will work across the organization to translate complex programmatic work into compelling narratives that inspire funders to invest in our mission to unlock opportunities for children with disabilities worldwide.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of success in relationship-based fundraising, with a proven track record of growing institutional revenue.
  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to turn technical program data into an emotional and convincing "case for support."
  • Goal-driven, deadline-oriented, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where creative problem-solving is the norm.
  • High proficiency in Salesforce and Google Workspace, along with a high level of organizational accuracy.
  • A genuine passion for the Perkins mission and the ability to act as a persuasive ambassador for our community.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a growing portfolio of institutional funders to hit aggressive revenue targets.
  • Draft and edit high-quality letters of intent, grant proposals, and sponsorship decks that stand out in a competitive philanthropic landscape.
  • Partner with program leadership to align funding strategies with organizational priorities, ensuring our "asks" match our global impact goals.
  • Build values-driven relationships with funders and partners through consistent communication, site visits, and engagement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with leadership and colleagues to engage funders in meaningful ways.
  • Use Salesforce and digital tools to track deadlines, enhance reporting procedures, and ensure every submission is accurate and on time.
