About The Position

This position is excluded from the Educational Officers' Bargaining Unit and will be filled as a limited term temporary appointment. Probationary service credit and tenure are not granted for temporary appointments. A WRITTEN EXAMINATION/ASSIGNMENT MAY BE ADMINISTERED TO HELP DETERMINE POSSESSION OF THE KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES PORTIONS OF THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in political science or business administration with coursework in public administration, management accounting, and research statistics.
  • Four (4) years of responsible professional work experience in program planning and analysis, budgeting, and/or public administration of which one (1) year shall have been in an education program, agency or system.
  • Public administration and organization theory; management accounting; business statistics; computer-based information systems; laws, rules, regulations and administrative procedures pertinent to the area(s) of assignment.
  • Conduct studies in program planning and analysis; communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing; operate computer and other business machines.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in public policy, human resources, or related field, which included coursework in research, evaluation, and/or educational assessment.
  • Four (4) years of professional work experience in organizational planning and/or human capital management.
  • Principles and practices of public relations and state budgeting; human resource law and policies; educational programs and practices sufficient to align such programs with the Strategic Plan.
  • Data analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and manages project timelines and budgets, analyzes data, situations, documents, facilitates meetings with Department leaders, staff and appropriate partners to plan and implement priority projects.
  • Coordinates with the Department's project team, consultants and partners to ensure all human resources, budget, technology and other infrastructure components are properly aligned to the meet the Department's strategic needs. Reviews and revises procedures, guidelines and policies related to priority projects for successful execution.
  • Prepares and presents reports and presentation materials including pertinent data, findings, conclusions and recommendations to communicate project plans, progress and results to all stakeholders.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
