About The Position

American Emergency Vehicles (AEV), a custom ambulance manufacturer and part of Terex Corporation, is seeking an Installer I to install vehicle interior and exterior parts. The role includes installing electrical components and hardware and completing assigned work to production, quality, and safety standards. Installers may work with minimal supervision and assist in training other installers. The position involves working around moving mechanical parts, noise, dust, fumes, vibration, and occasional toxic or caustic chemicals.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, correspondence, and memos in English.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layouts, and other written or verbal instructions in English.
• Ability to read and use linear and other measuring devices.
• Ability to perform operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
• Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations to other employees.
• Fundamental ability to use pneumatic and power tools.
• Familiarity with safe operation of tools such as drills, screw guns, and chop saws.
• Ability to use basic mathematics.
• Ability to work with minimal or no supervision.
• Ability to safely use specified hand, air, and power tools and machinery, and operate protective safety equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical interior and exterior components and hardware.
• Follow verbal and written directions in English, including engineering drawings, layouts, and other instructions.
• Set work priorities to meet scheduled production goals.
• Assist in training installers at all skill levels.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Meet minimum safety and 5S standards and applicable QA and QC standards.
• Follow company conduct and attendance rules.
• Know spill response procedures and evacuation routes.
• Handle and dispose of hazardous waste.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
