About The Position

Walpole Outdoors, a premier outdoor living space company since 1933, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team as Installation Laborers. This entry-level position is responsible for the delivery, construction, and installation of premium fences, pergolas, mailbox and lantern posts, playsets, and other outdoor structures. The Installation Laborer will work directly with the Crew Lead to ensure successful project completion and customer satisfaction. Requirements

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to minimize accidents and injuries on the job site, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of tools and materials.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools, such as drills, saws, and post hole diggers.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and alignment of fence components.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues that may arise during installation.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and colleagues.
  • High school diploma or equivalent highly preferred.
  • Previous related experience preferred.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Report to work on time.
  • Willingness to undertake training if necessary.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and carry 50 – 70 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in various conditions, including but not limited to extreme heat and cold.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to the Foreman with preparation for installations.
  • Read and understand paperwork.
  • Gather materials and tools.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Prepare the work area by clearing debris, marking boundaries, and assessing the terrain for potential challenges or obstacles.
  • Perform truck maintenance.
  • Assist with the installation of Company products according to specifications and safety guidelines.
  • Prepare job sites by gathering necessary tools and materials.
  • Measure and lay out jobs properly.
  • Maintain and regularly clean tools.
  • Provide proper use and care for special equipment.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on existing products.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
