About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Fence Installer to join their dynamic team. This role is part of a team of industry specialists trained to understand customer requirements for safety, accessibility, and image. You will receive instructions to help prepare job sites and use hand and power tools to prepare, remove, and install all types of fences according to specifications. As a field employee, you are the face of the company, and we rely on you to demonstrate professionalism and focus on customer service, even under pressure from tight deadlines and strict safety requirements. This is a physically demanding job that takes place primarily outdoors in various weather conditions. Comprehensive training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow instructions and be supervised.
  • Motivation to 'get the job done' even when the workload is heavy and deadlines are tight.
  • Ability to complete administrative paperwork accurately and meticulously.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with others.
  • Knowledge of general tools and equipment (drills, pressure washers, post drivers, strapping equipment, etc.).
  • Ability to physically handle (lift, carry, etc.) heavy fence panels (approximately 22 to 36 kg).
  • Must have own transportation.
  • Physical requirements include bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, lifting 22 kg or more, and working indoors/outdoors as required.
  • Fluency in both English & French is required. Proficiency in English is necessary to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues across North America, respond to English inquiries and ensure clear internal collaboration with our team.

Responsibilities

  • Safely install and dismantle fences and associated products at customer sites.
  • Complete operational documents (JHA reports, truck inventory logs, site checklists, etc.) as instructed.
  • Follow instructions from the lead fence technician/operations manager.
  • Assist with navigation to sites to ensure the team arrives safely and efficiently.
  • Work safely and productively, remaining constantly aware of site safety.
  • Ensure job sites and company vehicles are clean and free of debris and hazards.
  • Always act professionally with colleagues and customers.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
