About The Position

The essential function of the IAQ Technician is to provide general HVAC installation, CTS, and minor troubleshooting. This position handles new installations for customer homes and utilizes customer service training to educate and assist customers in explanation/operation of new equipment and finance options for additional opportunities. They will also handle calls from other install teams to get everyone done in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • General knowledge of HVAC state codes and ability to apply them in a practical manner on each job.
  • EPA certification with knowledge of applicable installation and venting codes.
  • Proven track record in heating and cooling systems including ability to draw simple diagrams, read blueprints and other diagrams.
  • Clean, safe driving record.
  • Highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communications.
  • High integrity with advanced social skills and ability to make solid connections.
  • Strong desire to be a better installer tomorrow than you are today.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of tools and principles of design in the production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
  • Knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Troubleshooting skills to determine problems and how to solve them.
  • Repairing skills for machines or systems using the needed tools.
  • Equipment maintenance skills, performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when components needed replaced.
  • Installation of 80%/90% gas, oil, propane and electric furnaces of all make, as well as air conditioning, heat pump and mini split systems, zoning systems and rooftop units, all manufactured type humidifiers, air cleaners, UV lamps and thermostats.
  • Sheet metal skills for layout and fabrication of standard sheet metal fittings and duct board fittings.
  • Active Listening skills: giving customers your full attention, asking appropriate questions, and not interrupting them.
  • Customer Service skills: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service.
  • Physical ability: Flexibility (twisting, bending, stretching or reaching with your body, arms, or legs).

  • Manual Dexterity: hand and arm movements necessary to grasp, manipulate or assemble objects.
