Install Technician
About The Position
The Service Technician supports existing residential customers and helps the dealership build new business. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing commercial and industrial water softeners, reverse osmosis machines, filtration equipment, and other water treatment systems. Technicians provide face-to-face service to existing and prospective customers, represent the Culligan brand in the community, and communicate customer information to other dealership departments. The work is physically demanding and takes place in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, and production areas. Plumbing experience is helpful but not required; previous water treatment experience is preferred. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with an 8-hour shift scheduled between 6 AM and 6 PM. Some workdays may exceed 8 hours. Employment is conditional on passing a background check, drug screening, DOT physical, and physical skills assessment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in water treatment, HVAC, plumbing, or a mechanically related industry.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of hydronic, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently and exercise critical thinking.
- Ability to work under deadlines and physically demanding conditions, including moving products weighing up to 185 pounds.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- At least 1 year of experience in a customer service or customer-focused position.
- Valid Illinois driver's license and a safe driving record.
- Must pass a DOT physical exam.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check, drug screening, and physical skills assessment.
