About The Position

The Install Plumber works independently or as part of a team to install residential plumbing systems and solutions and helps customers make informed, confident buying decisions. The role includes assembling, installing, testing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, fixtures, appliances, and underground piping. Work is performed in the field at customers’ residential properties, indoors and outdoors, and may involve varied weather and exposure to dust, mists, or chemicals. The schedule is generally Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM, with periodic nights, weekends, and on-call work potentially required. The listed duties are illustrative and representative, not all-inclusive; other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Assemble pipe sections, tubing, and fittings using appropriate couplings, fasteners, sealants, and soldering, brazing, or welding equipment.
Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
Locate and mark pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels.
Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angles using hand and power tools or machines.
Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances such as dishwashers and water heaters, and fixtures such as sinks and toilets.
Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes and fittings using hand and power tools.
Hang supports from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place.
Repair and maintain plumbing, including replacing defective washers, repairing or replacing broken pipes, and opening clogged drains.
Use electrical demolition hammers, excavators, and trenching equipment for underground plumbing installation and repair.
Install underground storm, sanitary, and water piping systems and extend piping to connect fixtures and plumbing to these systems.
Identify customer concerns and recommend relevant products and services.
Work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
