About The Position

The Install Manager is responsible for the installation side of the HVAC business. This role involves ensuring that installers exceed customer service standards through training and coaching, holding monthly install meetings, and participating in management team meetings. The Install Manager is also responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and hiring quality installation employees, managing daily scheduling operations, and coordinating communication between various stakeholders. Additionally, this role involves supervising and delegating tasks to installation employees, ensuring materials and equipment are ordered, staying in touch with installation crews, and ensuring employees have proper tools. The Install Manager also checks job completion, resolves customer issues, and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires a valid driver’s license.
  • Requires a high school diploma and/or equivalent.
  • A working knowledge of basic carpentry, gas piping, electricity and air flow are required.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of local codes and general industry standards.
  • Strong supervisory, communications, computer and mathematical skills are required.
  • Minimum of 5+ years previous HVAC experience as Install Manager.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service standards in stressful situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving, analytical skills and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that installers exceed all customer service standards through training and coaching.
  • Hold monthly install meetings and ensures the timely communication of new initiatives and policies.
  • Actively participate in bi-weekly management team meetings on current issues and solutions.
  • Recruits, interviews, and hires quality installation employees who embody our company values.
  • Manage daily scheduling operations, ensure that jobs are ready for installation.
  • Contact customers regarding scheduling issues, scheduling subcontractors and inspections.
  • Responsible for coordinating communication between installers, field supervisors, customers, vendors and the office.
  • Supervises and delegates installation employees; including hiring, disciplining, scheduling, counseling, training, evaluating performance, and overseeing work assignments to ensure effective production.
  • Ensures that materials and equipment are ordered for scheduled jobs.
  • Stays in touch with installation crews to assist with unexpected needs.
  • Ensures that employees have proper tools for the job and that they are properly maintained.
  • Checks to ensure that each job is completed and that appropriate documentation and/or payments have been received.
  • Resolves customer issues and problems encountered by installation personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
