About The Position

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Inspector for our Pittsburgh, PA office. This role provides field measurements and reports for payment quantities and changes in the work. The inspector will read and interpret drawings, specifications, and standards, and inspect various facets of work on the construction site for compliance with plans, specifications, and appropriate standards. The position also involves observing general job safety practices and enforcing the contractor's safety plan, complying with client policies and procedures for inspection of work under contract, and exercising responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Requirements

High school graduate
Three years experience or bachelor's degree in civil engineering or closely related field
Makes contract payments for review and approval
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

Experience with PennDOT, Allegheny County, and/or Port Authority of Allegheny County preferred
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Any Level NICET certification
Current NECEPT-Bituminous and ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician
PennDOT ECMS or PA Turnpike Kahua
