About The Position

The Department of Design & Construction, Division of Infrastructure, is currently seeking an Inspector to join our Construction Management 2 – South Queens – Section 2. The successful candidate will report to an Engineer-In-Charge and/or Resident Engineer and conduct technical inspections of construction, repair, and maintenance projects. These projects will involve roadways, sewers, pavements, and sidewalks.

Requirements

  • ACI Concrete Field -Testing Certified or take the first available DDC-offered training session.
  • OSHA 10-hour Certified or take the first available DDC-offered training session.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position.
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in civil engineering and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; or
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and a Master's degree from an accredited college in civil engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical inspections of construction, repair, and maintenance projects.
  • Assess the grading, paving, and repaving of streets, connections to house sewers, retaining walls, and the maintenance of water, sewer, and utility manholes.
