About The Position

The Inspector Packer inspects and packs finished product from the Flexo and/or N-Line Machine. The role supports machine operators, maintains a clean work area, checks products for defects, follows safety and food-safety requirements, and communicates with supervisors, lead persons, and operators about safety, quality, and production.

Requirements

• Maintain continuous mental and visual attention while performing work activities.
• Work shift work for 40 hours per week; overtime may be possible.
• Use required PPE, including ear plugs or muffs, a hair net, safety glasses, and steel-toe or composite-toe shoes.
• Frequently lift 35 pounds and independently safely lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 35 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Use appropriate assistance, team lifting, or mechanical lifting equipment for loads exceeding 50 pounds.
• Perform moderate to heavy physical effort, including frequent lifting, carrying, standing, walking, bending, and reaching during an 8–12 hour shift.
• Frequently bend, stoop, crouch, climb, extend the neck and trunk when reaching above the shoulders, and handle supplies and tools overhead.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe Huhtamaki safety rules and use safe work methods to prevent injury and damage to company property.
• Inspect and pack finished cartons into corrugated boxes.
• Assist the Flexo and/or N-Line Operator.
• Clean the area around the machine.
• Re-inspect cartons and visually inspect products for defects.
• Communicate with supervisors, lead persons, and operators about safety, quality, production, and related matters.
• Practice food safety and follow all SQF regulations.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
