About The Position

The Inspector Packer inspects and packs finished products from the Flexo and/or N-Line Machine. The role supports machine operators, maintains a clean work area, checks products for defects, and follows company safety, food safety, and quality requirements.

Requirements

• Maintain continuous mental and visual attention while performing work activities.
• Work shift work for 40 hours per week; overtime is possible.
• Use required PPE, including ear plugs or muffs, a hair net, safety glasses, and steel-toe or composite-toe shoes.
• Frequently lift up to 35 pounds independently; loads exceeding 50 pounds must be moved with appropriate assistance, team lifting, or mechanical lifting equipment.
• Be able to safely lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 35 pounds independently on a frequent basis.
• Perform moderate to heavy physical effort, including frequent lifting, carrying, standing, walking, bending, and reaching during an 8–12 hour shift.
• Perform occasional bending, stooping, crouching, and climbing, as well as frequent neck and trunk extension associated with reaching above the shoulders and frequent handling of supplies and tools overhead.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe Huhtamaki safety rules and use safe working methods to prevent injury and damage to company property.
• Inspect and pack finished cartons into corrugated boxes.
• Assist the Flexo and/or N-Line Operator.
• Clean the area around the machine.
• Re-inspect cartons and visually inspect products for defects.
• Communicate with supervisors, lead persons, and operators about safety, quality, production, and related matters.
• Practice food safety and comply with all SQF regulations.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
