About The Position

The Inspector Operator prepares and stages products and operates automated inspection machines. The role visually examines gelatin capsules and removes defective products, either manually or with automated equipment. It also involves cleaning and preparing inspection areas, operating equipment that sorts and polishes capsules, documenting batches, moving products, and conducting hardness checks on soft gel capsules. This position is designated for nights. The posting notes that immigration sponsorship or support is not available.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience is required.
No prior experience is required.
Basic computer skills to operate automated inspection machines and transact inventory.
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to identify and remove defective elastic soft gelatin capsules.
English communication skills to maintain written logs and records, communicate with supervisors and others, and read batch records, operating instructions, and safety regulations.
Full color vision to identify color defects in capsules.

Responsibilities

Clean and prepare the inspection area for use.
Clean bins and trays used to inspect and transfer products.
Visually inspect capsules and remove defective products using automated equipment or visual inspection techniques.
Operate automated equipment that sorts, polishes, and inspects capsules to ensure they meet specifications.
Maintain routine documentation for each batch, prepare log entries, and label product containers.
Lift and carry containers, parts, or capsules weighing up to 30 pounds, and push and pull materials weighing up to 400 pounds using wheels or pallet jacks.
Locate and move products into or out of drying tunnels.
Perform and maintain records of hardness checks on soft gel capsules.
