ICE is adding a MEI Inspector/Engineer to our growing team in Florida. This position is responsible for the inspection of maintenance and/or construction projects.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent OR a Civil Engineering degree with the ability to earn additional required qualifications within one year.
• For personnel with engineering, engineering technology, and construction management degrees: One (1) year of CEI/MEI experience in construction of roadway or bridge structures.
• For personnel without engineering, engineering technology or construction management degrees: Two (2) years of CEI/MEI experience in roadway or bridge construction.
• FDOT Advanced MOT
• CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I
• CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
• CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
• CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
• CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (Required for inspection of all drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures, lighting structures, and traffic signal structure foundations)
• CTQP Final Estimates Level I
• Nuclear Radiation Safety
• Valid Driver's license with safe driving record
• US Resident or Green Card Holder only
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing).

Nice To Haves

• Engineer Intern classification requires E.I.T. certificate.
• Civil Engineering graduates must obtain certifications within the first year of working as an inspector or Engineer Intern.

Responsibilities

• Performing assignments in assisting Senior Inspector in the performance of their duties.
• Exercising independent judgment in planning work details and making technical decisions related to field aspects of the project.
• Performing complex assignments in field surveying and construction layout, marking, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.
• Familiarity with the Department’s Procedures covering the project related duties.
• Proficient in the computer programs necessary to perform those duties.
