About The Position

Join the City of South Jordan as a Engineering Inspector! This position performs technical inspection duties for public infrastructure projects. Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Four years of related experience in construction, inspection, survey, or similar work.
• A valid Utah Class D Driver License.
• Ability to operate a personal computer and Microsoft products.
• Ability to communicate effectively, estimate materials, interpret plans, and maintain professional working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction sites to identify potential design issues and verify work meets approved specifications.
• Review public infrastructure improvements, including streets, water systems, sewer, storm drain, and related construction.
• Communicate with contractors to help resolve construction concerns and determine appropriate corrective action.
• Keep supervisors, project managers, departments, and public agencies informed of conflicts or project concerns.
• Compile as-built information, project records, punch lists, and other documentation needed to complete projects.
• Use GPS survey equipment to conduct land, utility, and infrastructure surveys.
