About The Position

Ensure product conforms to quality requirements as set forth by customer. This includes any and/or all of the following: dimensional checks, targeting, use of gauges or fixtures, visual inspections, liquid penetrant testing, pressure testing, magna-flux testing, and any other learned techniques or processes. Inspect and process castings to customer specifications using: LP techniques, Pressure Testing, Magna-flux procedures, Visual inspection, dimensional analysis, straightening, targeting, gauging and fixturing techniques. Assist supervisors as needed to expedite castings through manufacturing work areas. Review quality specifications, coordinate the flow of paperwork (lot tags, travelers) and utilize shop-floor reporting to record casting progression and job close-out. Work closely with Finishing Area associates to communicate quality requirements on castings. Assist supervisors as needed to set up workstations and package finished castings to send to customers. Will be responsible for grinding or other finishing area duties at times when there is nothing to inspect. Any other duties requested by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Level II Math
  • Level II Reading (Interpretation of drawings, SOP’s, and quality specs.)
  • Level II Writing (shopfloor reporting, work instructions, customer specs, Dimensioning & Tolerancing per ANSI/ASME Y 14.5 M)
  • Must pass eye exam
  • Must pass practical, general, and specific examination administered by Level III examiner.
