About The Position

Examines a variety of goods, services operations for conformity to establish quality, standards, by performing any combination of duties and responsibilities address below. Acts as a special technical inspection advisor to the Site/Field Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Must have five (5) years inspector or related experience working with US Army combat and tactical equipment and/or various types of heavy wheeled construction equipment and heavy tracked construction equipment.
  • Must have a valid Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements as needed.
  • Must have ability to read, interpret and apply technical manuals and publications.
  • Must be able to read electronic manuals.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
  • Must be able to complete paperwork associated with vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Ability to manipulate and use hand tools and hydraulic equipment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Passing a pre-employment drug screen and a government background check is required.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check (NAC) within 60 days of hire if required.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with all US Army maintenance to the -30 level preferred.
  • Should be familiar with ISO 900 Quality Management System specifications and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assuring that tools and equipment meet standards and calibration requirements.
  • Adhere to the details of inspection standards, methods and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with requirements for the continuity of inspection responsibilities, assuring completion of required inspections when personnel shift change, or assignments occurs.
  • Ensure that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work before it is approved for return to service, and the proper inspection and maintenance records, reports, and forms required for such release are properly executed.
  • Maintain familiarization with all applicable manuals and regulations and ensure that all technical data on vehicles and components are secured and kept current with latest revision.
  • Ensure periodic checks on all tools and monitor the calibration of precision test equipment.
  • Ensure that publications used by maintenance personnel are maintained in a current status.
  • Ensure that rejected and unserviceable parts, i.e. proper tag identification.
  • Assist in the proper procedures in diagnosing and troubleshooting all systems to determine malfunctions and corrective actions.
  • Assist other mechanics in proper procedures for removal and replacement of engines and main transmission assemblies.
  • Inspects repairs, removals, services or replacements of hydraulic system components, gauges, and instruments and system components.
  • Ensures that all maintenance operational checks are documented and performed according to appropriate technical manuals.
  • Reads and interprets manufacturers and military maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings and other specifications to determine feasibility and proper methods or repair.
  • Demonstrates effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively to provide quality seamless customer service.
  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
