Requirements

• 1+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• 18 years of age with High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times per hour.
• Ability to stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours per day or longer in overtime situations, as required.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to read and interpret documents, including but not limited to safety rules, procedures manual and policy manual.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with Department Supervisor, Lead, Coworkers and other personnel.
• Strong visual acuity and inspection skills.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems in a practical, methodical way while working with a sense of urgency.
• Able to read and follow a written set of procedures.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects mattresses and box springs for defects.
• Uses an air hose to remove dust.
• Uses scissors to trim excess threads.
• If mattress or box spring does not conform to appropriate standards, sends back to rework area for repairs.
• If the inspection is being conducted at the end of the matt or box spring conveyor, the inspector may also operate the packing machine. This involves feeding the matt/box to the machine and replenishing rolls of plastic.
