About The Position

The Inspector B inspects machines, assembled parts, and detail parts using check jigs, fixtures, or set-ups to ensure they conform to applicable standards, specifications, blueprints, and written or oral instructions. The role includes inspecting welded assemblies, checking for missed operations, visually evaluating workmanship, verifying assemblies against blueprints, stamping parts and assemblies to indicate approval or rejection, completing required paperwork, and conducting receiving inspections when needed. The Inspector works under general supervision and is expected to follow company policies and procedures and maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area while adhering to quality practices. Requirements

High school diploma or General Education Degree, or 6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Visual Welding certification.

Responsibilities

Perform checks in jigs and fixtures.
Inspect welded assemblies consisting of welded tubes, half stampings, machine flanges, and fittings.
Inspect detail parts, including parts with straight or regular flanges and angles.
Check work orders for missed operations.
Visually inspect fusion and seam welding, riveting, and drilling, and check for cracks, rough edges, scratches, tool marks, elongated holes, identification, and other indications of unacceptable workmanship.
Check assemblies for compliance with blueprints.
Apply re-inspection stamps to parts and assemblies to indicate approval or rejection, and prepare required paperwork.
Perform receiving inspection when required.
Follow Senior policies and procedures.
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area in accordance with safety standards and expectations, while adhering to quality practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
