About The Position

The Inspector 1 supports production operations by preparing and handling paper or plastic stock, assisting with machine operation, and helping ensure products meet job specifications. The role follows the Inline Operator’s direction and established safety, food safety, quality, and operating procedures. Work schedules currently available are 1st shift, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.; 2nd shift, 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.; and 3rd shift, 11:30 p.m.–7:30 a.m.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety rules, guidelines, and lockout/tagout procedures for assigned equipment.
• Follow SQF policies and procedures related to food safety, housekeeping, personal hygiene, and auditing.
• Review job orders and production specifications to determine the required paper or plastic stock for each run.
• Safely operate an electric hoist to lift, transport, and mount rolls of paper onto production machines.
• Prepare rolls for production by splicing new rolls, assisting with threading paper through the machine, monitoring paper flow, removing used rolls, and labeling or tagging rolls for inventory.
• Assist with machine cleaning and maintenance, and promptly report maintenance or operational issues to the Inline Operator.
• Follow machine operating procedures under the direction of the Inline Operator.
• Read and interpret production orders and accurately complete required documentation.
• Learn machine capabilities to help ensure production meets job specifications.
• Assist with product quality checks and make or support adjustments as directed.
• Support troubleshooting and minor repairs to minimize downtime and maintain smooth operations.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment and support general labor and housekeeping needs.
