About The Position

Western Express is seeking an Inspection Technician to join their team. This role involves inspecting equipment, performing tire services and repairs, and ensuring compliance with company procedures and safety standards. The technician will be responsible for documenting inspections, communicating maintenance needs, and providing excellent customer service to drivers and internal staff. The position emphasizes a commitment to safety, process improvement, and teamwork within a family-oriented culture.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid Driver License required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Windows applications.
  • At least one year of consistent employment or education.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect equipment and identify tire, wheel, and DOT-related deficiencies.
  • Perform tire service and repairs in accordance with company procedures and Tire Industry Association (TIA) safety standards.
  • Follow the company's tire management program to inspect every unit entering the yard and identify maintenance needs.
  • Accurately document inspections, repairs, and recommendations in company computer systems.
  • Communicate repair needs to the shop, management, or outside service providers as appropriate.
  • Provide professional, courteous service while assisting drivers and internal customers.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and operational protocols.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and communicate recommendations to management.
  • Share best practices and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
