About The Position

The incumbent is primarily responsible for managing calibration activities, including planning, execution, and follow-up of calibrations to ensure compliance and traceability of measuring instruments used in production and inspection. On an occasional basis, they support quality control inspection activities by performing required checks, identifying deviations, and contributing to product compliance with technical requirements and quality standards. Through versatility and rigor, they contribute to the performance of the quality system and the continuous improvement of processes in compliance with QHSE requirements.

Requirements

  • DEP, DEC, or equivalent in metrology, instrumentation, industrial techniques, quality control, or a related field
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role (calibration, quality inspection, metrology)
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of measuring instruments: calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, torque wrenches, pressure gauges, etc.
  • Knowledge of calibration standards or quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 17025)
  • Proficiency with computer tools and software (Excel, databases, metrology software)
  • Ability to read and understand calibration certificates and technical documents in both French and English
  • Attention to detail and strong rigor
  • Ability to manage and organize a large volume of tools and data
  • Manual dexterity to handle precision instruments
  • Strong analytical skills to identify drifts or anomalies
  • Autonomy, sense of responsibility, and proactivity
  • Team spirit and strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in workshop environments and interact with various production teams
  • Versatility and ability to adapt to operational priorities

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an up-to-date and complete inventory of measuring instruments (identification, condition, location, history), including the quarantine area
  • Establish and manage the annual calibration plan for all tools, based on defined intervals
  • Perform internal calibrations in accordance with established procedures and ensure the validity of results
  • Prepare, package, and send tools requiring external calibration to accredited laboratories; follow up on logistics until return
  • Review and analyze calibration certificates received (compliance, uncertainties, errors, recommendations)
  • Work closely with QMS teams to ensure compliance with quality requirements, regulations, and internal/external audits
  • Update the metrology database and associated management software
  • Manage instrument identification labels (status, date, next calibration)
  • Report any metrology non-conformities and support teams in implementing corrective actions
  • Train users on proper handling, storage, and maintenance of instruments
  • Maintain storage and calibration areas organized, safe, and compliant with QHSE requirements
  • Act as the main point of contact for external calibration service providers
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of calibration methods and metrology processes
  • Support quality control inspection activities as needed by performing in-process or final inspections
  • Identify, document, and follow up on non-conformities in collaboration with relevant teams
  • Use appropriate measuring instruments and validate results against specified tolerances
  • Perform any other related tasks as required
