About The Position

Guardian is seeking a motivated individual to join their team as an Insights and Reporting Lead, Group Benefits. This role will support the Group Benefits Underwriting team on all business insights and analytics needs. It is a visible role with the opportunity to make an impact and work directly with leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and reporting Underwriting and Inforce book insights including persistency, rate, pricing, and profitability. They will also be responsible for building scalable reporting packages with "metrics that matter," developing and presenting executive-level insights, identifying emerging trends, understanding key metrics, and communicating operational and financial impacts. The role requires advanced reporting, technical, and analytical capabilities with an emphasis on front-end storytelling (PowerPoint, Tableau, Excel), strong project management skills to juggle priorities and deliver high-quality products on time, and experience partnering cross-functionally to achieve shared business objectives. The ideal candidate is collaborative, has strong attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive Underwriting analytics experience within Group Insurance (a plus).
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, deep understanding of Underwriting value chain.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Tableau skills.
  • Proven ability to complete high quality work efficiently and increase autonomy over time.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • A trusted advisor who will lead conversations with leadership.
  • Organizational savvy with ability to influence.
  • Ability to synthesize large data sets into actionable insights and can communicate compelling recommendations to leaders.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, who is comfortable presenting.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States, without the need for employer sponsorship.
