Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year in a customer service focused position.
  • HVAC/R product knowledge Minimum 2 years.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated tenacity in achieving sales goals and growing sales.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of effective sales strategies and techniques.
  • Knowledge of HVAC/R products or ability to quickly learn company products and services.
  • High attention to detail with skill in following through on commitments.
  • Ability to manage time in a deadline driven environment with skill adapting quickly to changing priorities.
  • Effective listening and verbal/written/electronic communication skills.
  • Able to handle difficult customers and/or situations with diplomacy and tact.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and productively with a wide range of people.
  • Capable of following written instructions and ability to apply processes and procedures to making decisions and exercising good judgement.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and ability to utilize all company technologies.
  • Adheres to and enforces all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
  • Maintains professionalism in communications when interacting with customers and coworkers.
  • English proficiency (written and spoken) is a core requirement for this position due to the nature of the work, safety regulations, and to ensure accurate communication and comprehension.

Responsibilities

  • Service the needs of a specific market or group, i.e. GSA customers, or Unitary Product partners, as assigned.
  • Work with purchasing to assure adequate inventory levels to meet client needs.
  • Service customers by answering questions, responding to customer needs, taking orders, and entering them into the system accurately. Apply processes and procedures including credit guidelines when assisting customers.
  • Maintain pricing structures required by customers and create reference guides to assist sales and store teams with pricing.
  • Use electronic and published catalogs to research, provide product, pricing, and availability information to customers.
  • Provide solutions to customers’ problems. Seek assistance as needed from supervisor or sales teams to ensure responsiveness to customers.
  • Assure that orders are shipped according to the customer's instructions.
  • Support sales goals by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sales items. Supports promotional activities as assigned.
  • Participate in sales promotions and promote new products, sell overages, damaged and discontinued items.
  • Handle customer complaints, issues, and returns in a positive and professional manner seeking assistance as needed. Work with other departments to resolve customer service issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist in scheduled physical inventory counts and/or special projects as assigned.
  • Drive sales activity through outbound sales calls as directed by management.
  • Assist the sales team as needed, as directed by the Sales Manager.
  • Monitor and respond to the toll-free order hotline and other incoming calls.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, standards and business ethics codes.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required by management.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
