Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in grocery or foodservice
  • 2+ years in sales or a skilled office role
  • Strong communication skills

  • Organized, detail-focused, and proactive with follow-ups
  • Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Enjoy learning new tools and systems like PowerSell, AS400, WebDocs, RIMS, and store ordering platforms
  • Strong data entry skills (10-key experience is a bonus!)
  • Positive, professional phone presence and polished written communication

Responsibilities

  • Be the friendly voice customers count on by processing and entering orders accurately via phone, email, or fax.
  • Jump in to support outside and inside sales consultants by providing coverage during vacations or sick days.
  • Partner with sales teams to solve customer questions and challenges—from pricing and credits to deliveries, recalls, and product information.
  • Handle billing for specialty and non-stock items with care and accuracy.
  • Proactively connect with customers when items are out of stock, offering smart substitutions and clear delivery timelines.
  • Keep things moving by answering and directing calls from customers, brokers, and vendors to the right teams.
  • Work closely with vendors and internal departments to source specialty items and meet customer needs.
  • Tackle a variety of administrative tasks, including data entry, mailings, filing, scanning, and calendar management.
  • Get involved in events, special projects, and team assignments whenever needed.
