About The Position

The Inside Sales Representative aids in providing total customer satisfaction by selling and promoting Rugby Architectural Building Products and services to existing and new customers. This position reports to the Branch Operations Manager or the Distribution Center Manager.

Requirements

  • At least two years of previous inside sales representative experience, preferably in the building materials or construction industry. Alternatively, have served as a customer service representative in similar industries.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers.
  • Communication is factual, polite, and professional in nature.
  • Reserved, yet people focused.
  • Strong focus on repeatable, very high-quality results, and use customer-focused mindset to solve problems.
  • Knowledge of Rugby's product offerings or a willingness to learn.
  • Creative thinker and possesses ability to resolve critical problems.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
  • Prefer a steady, even pace of work, with a lot of predictability from one day to the next yet are goal-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strength in multi-tasking and handling multiple projects, assignments and accounts.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with high level of confidence.
  • Move from sitting to standing and walking a variety of distances frequently throughout the day.
  • Be able to lift and carry products from 5-20 lbs. weight to demonstrate features and functions to the customer.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all associated paperwork and routine progress reports as needed (purchase orders, bill of materials, return material authorizations, certificates of analysis, MSDS, etc.).
  • Use hands to operate a computer or other keyboard instrument.
  • Communicate with customers through inbound and outbound phone calls.
  • Analyze the requests and choices of every customer and suggest suitable products.
  • Make efforts to achieve the short-term sales targets and improve goodwill of the organization.
  • Establish friendly relations with customers and maintain ongoing relations with the customers.
  • Manage a database of potential customers and contact them regularly.
  • Update CRM software and ensure authentic information is available.
  • Actively engage in Rugby Nation.
